Episode 25 - Feminist Scholars Discuss the David and Bath-Sheba Trilogy

EPISODE SUMMARY

In this week's episode, I invite my friends and colleagues to discuss the story of David and Bath-Sheba with me.

EPISODE NOTES

In today's episode of The Bible You Thought You Knew, we’re putting a new spin on the infamous tale of David and Bath-Sheba.

I will be discussing the events of the story with my dear friends, colleagues, and feminist scholars Dr. Karen Winslow and Dr. Sara Koenig.

In this interview, we go deeper into the character of Bath-Sheba. There isn’t a lot known about her, and even the story in the Bible doesn’t go into much detail.

Or so you’d think.

Through analyzing the tale, my colleagues and I discuss and debate Bath-Sheba’s internal life, her motivations, and her feelings.

What was in her mind during her affair with David? And did she have any agency in these events?

We discuss these questions and more in this week’s episode of The Bible You Thought You Knew, so tune in now!
